Lesa Sevin | Morning Glory Kindergarten Teacher
Lesa Sevin has a BA in Elementary Education with an Art Endorsement and a minor in Early Childhood Education from Prescott College. She earned a teaching certificate in Waldorf Education from Antioch University and has completed numerous courses in Waldorf Early Childhood education at Sound Circle as well as kindergarten and grades training at Rudolf Steiner College. Ms. Lesa has also attended story telling and puppetry workshops at Juniper Tree of Puppetry Arts.
Ms. Lesa has recently spent a semester teaching in Spain at the Escolasofia Waldorf School. She has taught kindergarten at Peace Valley Waldorf Charter School in Boise Idaho and at the Valley of Flowers School in Bozeman Montana. Additionally, she ran an in home Waldorf program for over a decade.
Lesa is excited to be at Woodland Star Charter School and looks forward to meeting all the children and their families. When Ms. Lesa is not teaching, she is a practicing fiber artist.
Elizabeth Atwood | Dandelion Kindergarten Teacher
Elizabeth Atwood attended the Global Institute of Sustainability at Arizona State University and received a Bachelor of Science in Sustainable Ecosystems. It took her almost five years of working within the sustainable food system sector before realizing her true gift and passion for Waldorf Education. Elizabeth is now an experienced Early Childhood Waldorf Educator with years of experience that include working for a Waldorf Charter School in Southern California where she served as the lead kindergarten teacher.
Elizabeth is an energetic and warm teacher with a passion for early childhood and enriching the lives of children through Waldorf pedagogy in a public school setting.
Saree Heydenfeldt | Sweet Pea Kindergarten Teacher
Saree Heydenfeldt received her BA from Iowa State University in Adult and Family Services. She completed her Waldorf Teacher Training from Center for Educational Renewal. She also completed a three year certification program in Curative Education. Ms. Saree is enrolled in the intern program at North Coast School of Education to complete her California Multi-Subject Teaching Credential.
Ms. Saree has been a Waldorf kindergarten teacher for over a decade. She is an educator who fosters imaginative, hands-on learning through movement, creativity, and practical arts such as woodworking, sewing, cooking, and stewardship. She has also served as Director of Summerfield’s Farm Camp, where she guided children through rich, hands-on experiences on a working farm.
While working in her BA in Human Services, she discovered a deep commitment to working with children through teaching cooking, gardening, health, and art. After returning to California, she continued supporting children in public school settings, grades K–8, and served as the director of an after-school program.
Ms. Saree has contributed to school leadership through multiple groups and committees. She brings warmth, humor, and steadiness to her work, along with a grounded and generous presence that supports both children and colleagues.
Her passion for Waldorf education is rooted in a deep respect for childhood and a belief in the inherent goodness of each individual. She is honored to begin this new chapter in another beautiful part of Sonoma County and looks forward to building meaningful connections within the community. Outside of work, she enjoys kayaking and karaoke.
