Morning Glory Kindergarten

Lyra has been teaching at a Waldorf inspired charter school in southern California for the last several years. She has nearly 18 years Waldorf classroom teaching experience teaching kindergarten through 5th grade. After earning her Bachelor’s degree in music, she completed a Master’s degree program in education from Antioch New England Graduate School, and a Waldorf teaching certificate from Antioch University. She also holds a Multiple Subject Teaching credential from Dominican University. Lyra is blessed with the gift of music and singing, and has a keen interest in the festivals of a Waldorf School. She has a love of crafts, projects, and creating artistic classroom environments of beauty for the children. She has a warm kind loving nature that makes her students feel special and cared for. People that know her say her greatest gift is her ability to engage a class community, so that every parent has an opportunity to contribute to the educational experience of her class.

Dandelion Kindergarten

Ms. Romer has been the kindergarten teacher for the Dandelion Kindergarten at Woodland Star since 2010. Prior to that time Ms. Romer was the kindergarten assistant in the Morning Glory Kindergarten at Woodland Star. Before joining the Woodland Star kindergarten faculty, Ms. Romer was a kindergarten teacher at Stonebridge Charter School, a public Waldorf charter school in Napa. She comes highly qualified, possessing her California teaching credential, years of Waldorf training including curative education training, and many years of lead teaching experience. As well as being a Waldorf kindergarten teacher, Sallie is an actor, performance artist, musician and sculptor.

Sweet Pea Kindergarten

Ms. Witte has sixteen years of teaching experience, including eleven years of elementary and kindergarten education as well as gardening and outdoor environmental education experience. In addition, Ms. Witte has experience in developing curriculum for the Waldorf main lesson, science and gardening. She received her California State Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from Dominican University, a Single Subject Preliminary Science Teaching Credential from Sonoma State University and her Waldorf training from the Center for Educational Renewal in Santa Rosa, CA. As the parent of two young adults raised in a Waldorf charter school, Ms. Witte looks forward to being a compassionate and valuable resource for educating parents as well.
