Woodland Star Charter School is seeking a full-time 6th grade class teacher to start in the 2024-25 school year. Our beautiful rural 13 acre campus awaits you! Come join our vibrant, diverse community in the town of Glen Ellen, which is next to Sonoma, CA.
Woodland Star Charter School is a Waldorf inspired Tk - 8 public school. The school has beautiful gardens, playing fields, playground, outdoor stage and the potential for more outdoor expansion. Although we have moved to a larger site, we retained our dedicated parents and teachers that have, over these past 22 years, created a warm and inclusive Waldorf inspired School. Student Service and Intervention teams work collaboratively with our dedicated and talented Main Lesson teachers. Woodland Star is committed to the Science of Reading and creating an environment for all learners, including teachers! Our Lower School teachers are trained in Structured Literacy so that all students have a strong foundation in reading when they enter the middle school. We also have a Waldorf Teacher Summer Course on our campus.
General Class Teacher Qualifications
We are seeking a candidate with a California multiple-subject teaching credential, Waldorf training and teaching experience. These are important to us as a Waldorf Charter, however, if you feel you might be a good fit and those certifications are in process, please feel free to reach out to discuss what is possible.
Compensation and Benefits for Full-time Class Teachers
We offer a competitive salary (plus a little more for Spanish bi-lingual and postgraduate degrees) as well as medical, dental and state retirement benefits. Our school year calendar is designed for sustainable teaching and learning. We also offer priority enrollment for students of hired faculty members.
A competitive salary ($50,000 - $88,000) depending on training, education, and years of teaching experience
